If you have painted wood furniture then you might want to consider giving it a new paint job annually to protect it.

Most metal outdoor furniture is sprayed with coating that protect it from the effects of moisture, rain and heat so it requires less care then wooden outdoor furniture. However it is a good idea to apply an anti-rust coating or anti-rust paint every couple of years to keep this type of furniture in the best possible shape.

Glass patio furniture should be cleaned regularly with a regular glass cleaner like Windex. As glass can crack in cold weather you are well advised to take the glass tabletop of your outdoor furniture inside so cold or the weight of the ice or snow cannot damage it.

Your garden is an outdoor extension of your house, and you must think about your garden furniture as an extension of your indoor furniture, cleaning it and taking care of it just as you take care of your living-room armchair or your kitchen table. Doing so will ensure a long life for that quality garden furniture you have, saving you money and keeping your garden gorgeous. You should especially take care to do this if you live in an area that has been known to experience hail as a weather phenomenon.
