The Little Giant Ladder System

The truly unique Little Giant Ladder System is manufactured by Wing Enterprises in Springville, Utah. It is a convertible ladder system that was invented by an enterprising man named Hal Wing. A resident of the United States, Hall Wing was first inspired to create the giant little ladder after he came across a prototype of the ladder in Germany in the 1970s. After obtaining patent rights through his company Wing Enterprises, Wing began manufacturing the ladder at his home and selling it at trade shows in the United States. As the demand grew for Wing’s amazing and handy little giant ladder, so did Wing’s empire.

The reason that the little giant ladder system is so innovative is that it converts from a single ladder into several heights and postures. It can almost be considered to be the Swiss Army Knife of ladders. This versatile little giant ladder system easily transforms into a straight ladder, an extension ladder, an A-frame ladder, either an even or uneven stair case ladder and a ninety-degree ladder. Perhaps its most clever transformation is into a fully supported scaffolding trestle.

As if all of this versatility were not enough the little giant ladder system achieves three heights in one ladder and can be posed into a total twenty four different combinations of position and height. The ladder also folds up into an easy compact size so that it is easily tucked away into storage.

Another feature of the little giant ladder is its patented flared legs that greatly increase the sturdiness and stability of the ladder. Locking and telescoping side rails allow a stable standing surface.

It is made of lightweight aluminum that makes it easy to transport. It is secured in different positions through the use of a locking hinge that allows the ladder to straighten from an A-frame to an extension ladder or lock into the ninety-degree position. Locking and telescoping side rails allow a stable standing surface.

The little giant ladder comes in three different classifications: Type I (rated for up to 250 lb. capacity), Type IA (rated for up to 300 lb. capacity) and Type IAA (rated for up to 375 lb. capacity). Type I is available in two heights, Type IA in four heights and Type IAA in three heights.

Wing Enterprises also offers several other nifty types of ladders including the Skyscraper convertible ladder that converts to two different heights for high work, the Little Jumbo Safety Step Ladder, the Ultra Step and various kinds of fiberglass ladders and accessories.
