Bathroom Storage Ideas

If there is one place that one always needs storage it is in the bathroom. Here are some bathroom storage ideas that can help you stay organized and create more space.

One recent trend is to buy an old-fashioned side cabinet with drawers. These types of old fashioned cabinets are waist level or lower and often come with a decorative mirror as well as an inset washbasin. They also have many drawers in which you can store things like toothpaste, guest soaps and washcloths.

You can never go wrong buying one of those tall towers with shelves and cabinets that fits over the back of the toilet. Yet another trend is very skinny and tall towers that can either fit against a wall or in a corner. The only requirement of installing these types of tower bathroom shelves properly is a floor that is level or you will always end up with shelving that is in danger of tipping.

If you have a large bathroom consider turning one whole wall into a closet using the type of shelving that you would normally put inside a closet. This way you can have cabinets, drawers, open shelves as well as a place to hang your bathrobe and any other type of clothing.

To hang towels many people are buying hooks that hang over the shower doors or the door to the bathrooms. These types of decorative hooks don’t require a hammer and nail to install, they simply are slotted so that they fit easily over any door.

You can also place decorative baskets on the floor and use them to store things like toilet paper, magazines and towels. Hanging baskets, such as the ones that are used to store vegetables, can come in handy if you have a tiny bathroom with minimum floor or wall space. These provide an easy way of stashing your toiletries.

If you have a small bathroom you can also buy small wire carts on casters with shelves on tiers. Usually these are made of plastic or wire. The good thing about this type of bathroom storage is that you can easily move the cart around so that your mobile shelf is not in your way if you are making do with a smaller than average bathroom. Yet another idea is to simply add more counter space to your bathroom. Adding a small table to the room easily does this.

One place that in most bathrooms is usually a waste of space but can be greatly enhanced for bathroom storage purposes is beneath the sink. Buying lazy susans, fold out shelves and other storage devices can help make this normally underexploited space into a place for storing all of your bathroom sundries.
